Making a pastille in a sweetshop was bound to remind me of my childhood and my old but immoderate consumption of these colourful, sweet and tangy little things. So I imagined a sparkling pastille, bathed in the sounds of childhood (balloons, toys) and ideas gleaned from the shop (water, gradual transformations of sound like the ingredients used to make granitas).
