History of the Map'PS - "Sault, ça s'écoute aussi" project
In 2020, the artistic company Le Phare à Lucioles initiated a project to commission sound artists to compose short pieces for the shops in the village of Sault. The principle is simple: an artist spends a day in on of the village shop or office. The meeting, the atmosphere of the place, the life of the shop or the recordings in situ provide the main material for the artist to compose, write and record a small sound pastille of 2 to 3 minutes, accessible to listen via a QR-code displayed on the front of each participating shop.
As the collection grew, so did the idea of grouping these creations together in sound trails around the village. And so, in 2024, Map'PS was born!
